If you have
mastered the
basic loop and
roll on small
micro size
helicopters, you
will find basic
3D maneuvers a
walk in the park
with the T-Rex
600. The T-Rex
600 is a big
helicopter with
an all up weight
of 3kg, which
gives it a lot
of inertia
during flight.
Using this
inertia to your
advantage will
result in easy
basic 3D
maneuvers like
loops and rolls.
The T-Rex 600
manual has two
3D setups for
throttle and
pitch curves.
Idle 1 or Stunt
1 mode is used
for gentle 3D
flight, and Idle
2 or Stunt 2
mode is used for
more aggressive
maneuvers like
tic tocks. Idle
1 or Stunt 1
mode gives more
than enough
positive and
negative pitch
change responses
to pull any loop
or roll of with
the greatest of
ease. I would
recommend the
Idle 1 or Stunt
1 mode for
beginners.
In heading lock
mode, the Align
GP750 gyro is
solid with no
tail drift
during loops and
rolls. 540º
Stall turn
pirouettes can
be executed fast
with great
stopping power
from the GP750
gyro. Every time
I’m flying my
T-Rex 600, I’m
amazed how well
the GP750 gyro
works on the
T-Rex 600. In
conclusion, the
T-Rex 600 is a
well-balanced
helicopter with
lots of power,
and will execute
basic 3D
maneuvers
gracefully
without any
unexpected
surprises. Great
helicopter….
