Read the
manual carefully before
you start assembling the
T-Rex 250 Kit, which
will assure for a much
more pleasant building
experience. What I like
about the T-Rex Super
Combo Kit, is that the
servo’s, gyro and speed
controller is supplied
with the kit. All you
need to get into the air
is a programmable six
channel or more
transmitter, receiver,
dial pitch gauge and a
LiPo battery for the
helicopter.
A Phillips screw driver,
Hexagon screw driver and
tweezers are supplied
with the kit. Additional
tools like scissors,
cutting knife, diagonal
cutting pliers, needle
nose pliers, oil and
glue are needed for
assembly. The supplied
Anaerobics and Thread
Lock tubes were already
used at the factory when
they assembled the rotor
head, the main frame and
tail rotor assembly. I
only used the Thread
Lock tube once when the
metal pinion gear was
fixed to the main motor
shaft.
All the assembling steps
are numbered in the
manual and they
correspond to the
different bags with
parts, which are also
numbered. This number
system makes it fairly
easy not to get confused
while building the T-Rex
250. It took me about
five hours to complete
assembling. The five
hours assembly time
includes the assembly of
the helicopter,
installing the servo’s,
main motor, gyro, speed
controller and receiver.
Take note that Align has
provided a small bag
with some spare screws
and washers in the T-Rex
250 Super Combo Kit.
Don’t worry when you are
left at the end with
this bag after assembly.
You haven’t left any
screws and washers out….
• For a perfect flying T-Rex 250 helicopter, make sure
of the following:
• If you follow all the steps below, you will have a
wonderful little T-Rex
250 helicopter that will
fly well from the start.
• Make sure that all rotor head and servo linkages are
exactly the lengths
stipulated in the
manual.
• Make sure the distance between the flybar paddles and
flybar control arm are
exactly the lengths
stipulated in the manual
.
• Make sure the flybar paddles are perfectly horizontal
with the flybar control
arm when viewed from the
side.
• Give the Thread Lock on the pinion gear and main
motor shaft to dry
properly before
operating.
• Make sure that the main gear and pinion gear mesh
correctly according to
the manual.
• Make sure that the tail rotor belt is twisted the
correct way inside the
tail boom.
• Make sure that the main rotor blades are balanced.
Don’t assume that they
are balanced because
they are new.
• Make sure the helicopter C.G is correct.
• Make use of cable ties to assure that no wires will
interfere with moving
parts on the helicopter.
• Lastly, do an overall check and make sure all screws
are tight, and make sure
that nothing is out of
place.
Conclusion:
I have truly enjoyed
building my T-Rex Super
Comb Kit. I highly
recommend this Align
product, and I think
that anyone loving R/C
helicopters will find
building this little
helicopter a pleasurable
experience. Not only
does the end product
look good, but the hole
T-Rex 250 Super Combo
Kit is made from the
highest quality
materials and best
supplied electronics.
